Kevelin Jones and Unified in Christ announce the release of their debut album “Take Me There Live” which was recorded at the Cathedral Conference Center in Detroit, Mich. The official release of the recording took place on Nov. 10 in Memphis, Tenn. during the International Church of God in Christ Convocation. While there, the group sold over 400 CDs in just two days.
Jones’ lyrics have been compared to those of John P. Kee, Kirk Franklin, and Fred Hammond. The music was made to uplift and inspire listeners by offering a combination of contemporary, inspirational, and traditional gospel music through worship. It was designed to appeal to listeners from a broad range of denominations and ages.
The ministry of Elder Kevelin B. Jones Jr. reflects his ability to overcome obstacles and transcend barriers in order to fulfill the call of God on his life. During the development of this project, Jones suffered the tragic loss of his sister and manager, Alicea Jones, who was brutally murdered in her home. In addition to this heartbreaking loss of life, his family was also faced with finding a kidney donor for his father who had been slated to receive a kidney from Alicea before her death. Miraculously, Jones also proved to be a perfect match and was able to donate a kidney to his father who had been enduring hours of hemodialysis treatment each week.
